Dear Parents of HCYO

Thank you for supporting the 2021 Hopebox Charity Youth Orchestra benefit concert. We are extremely fortunate to be in this privileged position of helping others in need, especially during times like this. As we head into the summer we would like to take a survey that would help us plan for this year’s concert.

Our original plan was to organize another virtual concert similar to last year’s, but we are currently considering full, in-person rehearsals and a live concert with the hopes that most of our students will have been vaccinated by mid-summer. At the least, with things slowly getting back to normal, we would like to try a hybrid of in-person and Zoom rehearsals and a live concert with limited capacity or without the audience.

As much as we all want to end this long drought of live music for our students, their safety is our top priority. We will only proceed with the plan if we have the approval of the vast majority of the parents. Otherwise we will stay on our original plan of doing everything virtually.

Please respond with your thoughts on this matter and let us know if you would be comfortable with your children meeting in person this summer.
