Hi everyone,
We had our first HopeBox Club meeting of the year yesterday and donated the $8,200 we raised from the benefit concert to UNICEF. The UNICEF representative at the meeting told us about the dire situation of many Rohingya people and that our funds will have a tremendous effect in providing safety for refugees fleeing Myanmar.
Although many of you were unable to attend the meeting last night, there is still time to join the HopeBox Club!
As a club member you will have the opportunity to:
-attend monthly meetings, where we will paint envelopes for patients and children
-play music at JW House, a rest home for families going through medical crises in the Bay Area
-volunteer at Guiding Light Project Homework Club, helping underprivileged children in San Jose with homework
Joining the HopeBox Club is an excellent opportunity to serve our community and also gain service hours in the process! Because we all have so many hours from participating in the benefit concert, joining the club and volunteering every month will possibly make you eligible for the President’s Volunteer Service Award.
You can still register for the club at next month’s meeting! Attached is a copy of the HopeBox Club Membership Registration Form, which you can bring to the meeting next month along with the registration fee ($50 for returning members, $70 for new members). Copies of the form will also be available at the meeting, so you can fill it out then if you want. Semin or Sujin will send out another email closer to the date of the meeting detailing the time and date.
I hope you all will join the club!
Thanks,
Chaelee Park
HopeBox Secretary
